Over the long weekend, I read three books that I enjoyed. Each were quick and exciting reads.

Distant Shores by Kristin Hannah

A marriage starts to fall apart after a husband gets an amazing job three thousand miles away. The wife must decide what is right for her after a family tragedy causes a fork in the road on everyone’s plans.

This story is amazingly written and the characters are rememberable. I could not put this book down.

Rating: ***** stars (5 out of 5 stars).

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

A young couple is shaken to the core when their child is taken during the night.

This is a fast read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I read this book in one night, and it was quite enjoyable.

Rating: ****1/2 stars (4.5 out of 5 stars).

The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King.

A young girl goes hiking with her mom and brother, but she gets distracted and walks off the path of the Appalachian Trail. She believes she has the ability to fix her situation, but things go from bad to worse when night falls.

I have to admit that I hadn’t read a Stephen King book in a decade or two, but I enjoyed this tale of being lost. I wish there was more details about the people who searched for this missing girl.

Rating: **** stars (4 out of 5 stars).
